IIG Night Golf
On the 31st May 2017, #YourIIG hosted their annual night golf tournament at Randpark Golf Club. This very picturesque, immaculately-conditioned, tree-lined course was a pleasure to play on…even in the dark!

Players were welcomed at the registration desk by #YourIIG’s organizing team as well as some members of the Class of 2017, where they received a goodie bag including a head lamp, glow-in-the-dark accessories, and most importantly - golf balls (for those who feared losing too many balls, additional balls could be purchased at the desk).
The networking began with all attendees being seated for a delicious buffet straight off the braai, including free drinks prior to the shotgun sunset start. This gave all players the opportunity to engage with colleagues and industry peers, and to get those valuable calories in, needed for the golf swing, and invaluable for keeping warm. The siren went off at 17:30 sharp and the 12 hole challenge began, with 24 four balls teeing off 2 by 2, playing a BB stableford format on the following holes:
Front 6 – Holes: 10 | 11 | 12 | 13 | 14 | 15
Back 6 – Holes: 4| 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9
On the course, our sponsors arranged activities as follows:
• Emerald Africa hosted a carnival where players could test out their strength and accurate throwing abilities for spot prizes. One could also enjoy the delicious donuts, snack and drinks on display.
• The Glasfit Superheroes welcomed us at hole 15 for a super fun experience.
• At hole 5, Mirabilis entertained us with Glow in the Dark tenpin bowling, also testing our accurate throwing abilities after a few drinks…
• Santam warmed us up with some hearty ox-tail soup and jalapeno poppers, together with a wide variety of other drinks and snacks. Their shooter variety included Tequila jelly, which could warm up the coldest of golfers…
The Class Of 2017 made their voices heard, cheering the golfers on from the 13th hole; players could pledge donations to drive the AMOR Housebuilding Project taking place in Delmas later this month.
Once all the players had sunk their final putts and entered their score cards, prize giving followed and the winners were as follows:
1st Place – Louis Strydom & Marius Roos (Fulcrum) – 31 Points
2nd Place – Rhandi Seetam & John Kosen (Echelon) - 31 Points
3rd Place – Tony Jacobsen & Thomas Kieck (TIAL Technologies) – 30 Points
Nearest to the pin on the 6th – Wim Maland (AASA)
Longest drive on the 12th – Richard Lay (Emerald)

Clayton from Glasfit was the lucky winner of a ticket that will be entered in to the lucky draw later in the year, where the winner will be going on the IIG International to Hong Kong & Singapore!
